Having now pitched my idea to my supervisor, I feel like I have a more well rounded idea as to what this documentary will end up being. The main take-away from the advice given by my supervisor was to absolutely make ethics and law my main concern with filming, as well as reinforcing that I need to provide balance with my interviews and not make this documentary as an advert for paedophile hunting.
I feel like the Police interview will not only allow me to explore the originality aspect my documentary will explore, but it will also provide balance with the DCI offering his professional opinion on these teams.
I feel like the pitch went well, it seemed to receive positive feedback from my supervisor, another issue was that I needed to make sure I honed in on my originality and made it different to the documentary made 4 years ago surrounding these teams. However, I believe my documentary will be different from the off to the original Channel 4 Documentary as that was filmed at a time when the hunting community was demonised whereas now they're more accepted and better understood in society.
